Saving Silence

… a premier pop rock band from Johannesburg, South Africa.

The band signed a major worldwide recording and publishing deal with The David Gresham Record Company. David Gresham Records, best known for breaking local acts such as Prime Circle, Wonderboom, Cutting Jade and most recently Jesse Clegg. The band caught the ear of the Gresham execs after submitting a strong collection of demos that they wanted to record for an album.

SAVING SILENCE have been in studio recording their debut album for over a year, working with legendary SAMA nominated producer Ziggy (best known for his work with Prime Circle) and Michael Naranjo of “One Day Remains” fame. A lot of the band’s focus was spent on writing songs that would appeal to their existing fans while attracting new ones globally. The band was presented at this year’s MIDEM Music Conference held in Cannes, France and was met with great enthusiasm from international labels and A&R executives.

SAVING SILENCE are Danie Carolus on lead Vocals, acoustic Guitar, keyboard and jembe drums, Jacques Ceronio on electric guitar and vocals, the ultra sexy Tracy Oosthuizen on bass guitar, Jarrod Tomlin on lead guitar and Roger Erian on drums. The young rockers have defined a unique and fresh sound that sets them apart from any other South African band. Best known for their energetic and exciting live shows setting crowds alight nationwide, SAVING SILENCE are one of the hardest working acts in South Africa playing between 4 to 8 shows a week.

The first single from their debut album ‘Open Up Your Eyes’ was written during the Gresham demo sessions and was immediately picked up by the A&R team at the record company as the hit song to launch the band. This unique song highlights lead singer, Danie Carolus’ strong yet smooth radio voice backed up by the blend of Chris Baumann’s backing vocals and Jarrod Tomlin’s eccentric style of guitar playing mixed with the foundation of Tracy Oosthuizen’s groove conscious bass and Roger Erian’s solid drumming.
